Dynamite in Words

My lips fused together! They shut tighter than welding on a ship. I could not breathe in through my mouth. I stumbled backwards in panic.

‘Be still!’ Commanded the spirit of wisdom. I had been complaining about my poor lot in life, when the spirit’s temper flared, ‘Think now!’ He snapped at me as I lay on the ground, stuffing air into my lungs through my nostrils, ‘The power of life and death is in the tongue.’ The spirit paused and took a deep breath, ‘Those who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it -  for death or for life.’ Calmed down, the spirit removed my supernatural gag, and I gasped for air. ‘Now think,’ said the spirit as he turned to leave, ‘and chose which one it shall be!’
